I bought a lovely princess cut solitaire diamond ring in Hamilton and proposed at the Airport. I'm pretty sure she liked it, and we got applause from everyone in the airport too, so that was cool. One of Jill's classmates from highschool was there too and he wants to be a bridesmaid... not sure how that'll go :P. My mother and grandmother were there at the airport too, and they knew that I was going to propose so they of course made it rather awkward saying "didn't you want to talk to Jill?" and such. Thanks ma... Anyways, embarassment aside it went well and she said Yes.

School started up the next week, which means classes, homework, assignments, tests, and my favorite: Procrastination :D. Where would we be without procrastination? But yeah, this year I've got for classes Eschatology, Christian Literature, Western Civilization, Missionary Theory and Worldview Studies, as well as "choir" each week. This semester is particularly rough because they're all tough courses, Alan Beck's course is the easiest one. Not a good sign... Ah well.

A week after school started Wal-Mart started again. Everyone in Hamilton seems to think I'll eventually become a manager and own Wal-Mart. Who knows? But as of now I'm in the middle of Christmas Layaway madness. I came back to a messy Layaway since it was understaffed but now it doesn't look too bad, for Christmas at least. I've been hearing rumours that Layaway is going to end after Christmas, which would really suck if it did. I like Layaway. Although if it did maybe that'd be my opportunity to try something new, maybe get a CSM position that I've been asking for. Maybe not, but I can dream, can't I?

Things have been pretty busy, and recently I had all my wisdom teeth pulled out. My lower ones were growing horizontally and crowding in all my other teeth, so my dentist said it was time to get them out. I went to go see Dr. Habbi (whom I first thought was named Dr. Happy) who, in spite of all the horror stories I've heard of him, was very good. I got to have laughing gas for about 10 seconds before they fully sedated me, and let me tell you that was fun. I wanted to take some home with me for class but they wouldn't let me... Anyways, the procedure went well and I'm on the mend now, doing quite well apparantly. I get the stitches out Friday, which will be nice because they'll be out and I'll miss another Missionary Theory class. Shucks... :)

Anyways, I think that's enough for now. It's kinda late so I'll give a quick recap of everything and expound on it when I have more time.

Since december I finished my second year of MCC, worked in the Garden Center at Wal-Mart for two months then went to Hamilton to work with Scott Jacobsen for an internship for about 3 months. Came home and got engaged to Jillian shortly after (at the airport :P). We've been engaged now for... 77 days now? Something like that. Wow, it doesn't seem like it's been that long. Started up third year at MCC, lots of reading and I'm not much of a reader :P so falling a little behind. No worries, this sememster will be over soon *phew*. Back at Wal-Mart working layaway since a week after my return from Hamilton. Friday morning I got my wisdom teeth pulled, they were growing horizontally :O. Recovering now, and doing not too badly. Painkillers are wonderful things :D So is laughing gas, but more on that later.

Gonna go take another pill soon, then off to bed and church in the morning. Jillian's over too and she wants to go to bed so I'd better head off (she's using my laptop to watch a show b4 bed so I've gotta get off, but I'll just keep typing neways. tee hee) ha ha, ok. G'night all (Sandy, since you're the only one who checks it. Maybe Courtney Jill says.)

Can't wait for solid food... KD was nice though :P

Ok, time for bed. Seriously......... Tee Hee.

Apparantly it's time for an update

Jill wanted me to update my blog, so here goes.

First semester of MCC is over finally, it was a long semester and a long week till exams were over. Had a few all-nighters over the semester, but nothing too bad. Work at wal-mart has been fairly busy too with Christmas coming. I still haven't gotten to go into the front seasonal pod, Cory said we just couldn't hire enough cashiers to cover my absence, so I'm stuck on the cash for now. The next semester should be quite a busy one with the Lectures and Choir Tour up and coming. I might even have to get stuff ready to go to Hamilton in the summer should I get the intern position at Elise's father's church over there.

I guess the only other thing to mention is that Jill and I have been going out for over 8 months now. it's crazy to think how long it has been and I'm so glad that things have worked out so well. Although, sometimes that's not the case. Every so often while driving along the PEI roads, usually going over the speed limit on your way into town or home from work you'll come across a car going about 70-80km and generally with a line of at least 5 frustrated drivers behind this car. Quickly you become one of these disgruntled drivers and find yourself passing the slower car as soon as possible, and as you pass this car you look right to see who it is that's driving so slowly. You notice that it's a small, elderly bald man and his white-haired wife. Without giving the whole incident another thought you continue on at a swift 100+km into town to continue on with your busy life. This happens quite a lot around here, and it's happened to me several times.

One thing i've noticed occasionally is that in your rush off to work or wherever it is you're going you fail to take notice of what it is that's happening, that couple you quickly passed on your way into town is simply enjoying the drive. They're not going anywhere in particular, contrary to all the many cars speeding by. I think that too often we get caught up in work, school, life to really just take a minute to pause. We're constantly moving, constantly busy with something and never take a walk in the park. We're always taking a walk through the park rather than experiencing the park. Sometimes you might feel like you're taking a walk through life rather than a walk in life, speeding on past to get from point A to point B and completely missing all that's between.

So next time you're rushing along to get somewhere, ask yourself "Am I taking a walk through life?"

Long time, No post

Phew, it's been a long couple of weeks. Craziness. I've been doing work at Wal-Mart, which has been pretty eventful itself. I did one day of training (because I'm so super and got it all in one day =P) and then on my first day of going solo on the cash I get about 50 billion problem customers. ok, the number's a bit exaggerated but you get the idea. I'd say my favorite was one lady who bought about 170 in stuff, paid using 2 gift cards, a credit card and a debit card. She got a recipt about a mile long and got $20 in cash-back. The problem was I didn't notice the cash-back, nor did she. about an hour later she returned to get her money. It was all fine, except that the CSM had to count my whole cash register, so it took like 20 mins. I felt so bad for the lady since she had to wait. I'd say my least favorite customer was this one guy who paid for about $30 in coin..... and then 23 in american money. That wasn't fun, and i'm pretty sure he was just doing it to be annoying. Today I had the lady with 50 cats come through my cash, she bought (i'm not even kidding) nearly $120 of CAT FOOD!!! Holy Frig that's a lot of cat food. Apparantly I've been getting all the trouble customers.

BTW I finished my pot of KD, it was sooo good. nothing beats KD right from the pot. Plates are so overrated when it comes to KD. My KD is way too good to grace a common plate with its extravegant presence. So I like KD ^^

Ok, so I should be heading to bed. We've got the conference tomorrow, so I've gotta go to bed. G'night all.

The Reason I know there is a God

For those of you that don't know, this is the accident that should have killed me. This happened last summer, driving home after a late night I was rather tired and drifted off, waking up in a tree. The guy who towed the car away said he was surprised that I even survived that, let alone got out without a scratch. Apparantly that kind of hit can easily kill. It was definately a scary thing, but looking back on it I can see now that God was watching out for me on that day and kept me safe.

on a side note, i got the job at wal-mart and start on Thursday, so it should be lotsa fun. also I think the last post saw the most amount of different replies, we got to a whopping 3 people! lol. I haven't really been in the mood to blog lately, I dunno why, i just haven't. Luckily not many people have complained. I've been doing Romans questions for the past few hours and not getting too far, but they'll get done eventually. I'll be living at the MacLeod's place for the next week and a half or so, which is pretty fun. Some people have said that living alone in the middle of the woods is horrible, but a change of scenery is nice, and I can do quite a bit out here anyways. Tomorrow I might take a walk through the woods, it's been really nice and warm lately, but there's still some snow down so it should make for a nice walk.

I've just been a little out of it lately, things happen and such, but I'll not get into that because I told Sandy that I'd make this a boring and bland post. g'night all, back to Romans. Just think, after tonight I'll be done of Cottrell forever! till the exam, but exams are easy anyways. L8rs

oh btw, not necessarily bland or boring but a little strange, I had McDonald's yesterday and for some reason it gave me a rather unfortunate bit of diarrhea, and then today I had some Wendy's after church and got the same thing again. This is not a good thing.

25th post!

Ok, so it's not that much really, but it's still cool to celebrate mediocrity! So since it's the last day of March Break I'll tell you a bit (or a lot) about my break.

Before I get to the break I'll update you about seeing the Rez Sisters play. It was awesome, and Brian Ansems was just like I remembered him in High School. He played an indian spirit/trickster and did it very well, even though he barely had any lines. I also saw Megan Inman there so we sat together during the play. I guess she had to write up a review of the play for a class. It was a very good play, however it did include some adult themes.

So the break started with a decently relaxing saturday and sunday. I mostly stayed at home for that weekend, picked up a bit of work that'll be coming due, but nothing too stressful. Monday started at 6:30am... I had to work on Hotels through the week. Unfortunately money around here is getting rather tight and, well non-existant. So that led me to apply for a job at Wal-Mart. still haven't heard from them about the second interview, but two of my refrences were unavailable this week, so that might explain it.

Throughout the week I was doing hotels and such, except they're taking much longer now, so hopefully Jim will pay me extra per city. On thursday I also got to see 300 finally. I know, i'm a loser and went alone, but that happens sometimes. And everyone else saw it already, so I got stuck going solo. It was still an awesome movie.

And today I went to Cornwall church for Katherine's baptism. The church is a nice small church with what looks like a great congregation. They were very friendly and seemed like a great bunch. It was a nice change and I got to see a few familiar faces.

So that's my March Break. on a side-note Ma got the test results from the biopsy last Monday. I guess they found some lymp nodes (or something like that) in the lump that shouldn't be there, so she's got to go in for a CAT scan. I don't quite know what that all means, but I suspect that she's not telling me everything about it, so prayer for that would be appreciated. Unfortunately the CAT scan waiting list is between 3 and 6 months long, which isn't good at all.

Well that's all I've got for tonight. Now i've gotta get back to my Romans questions, maybe they'll be magically done while I was writing this post!

Nope... oh well, wishful thinking is nice sometimes. L8rs all

Last week

So it would appear that I did forget to post about last week. sorry about that, essays and assignments just piled up. So here goes, I'll try to remember what it was I was going to post.

So the plans for the Spring Conference have changed a few times. For those who don't know I'm on the planning committee for the Spring Conference, but we've had a few problems with the planning. But now we're starting to get it all together finally. continue prayer for that.

Last week was my second time to sing in the worship band at Chapel. It went pretty well I thought, Robbie commented that every1 sounded good together, so that's always a plus.

The big topic of the post is that I got to chat with an old friend of mine from Montague High. Late last week Brian Ansems came online and we chatted for a bit. Apparantly he's in a play at UPEI this week called "the Rez Sisters". Brian's awesome at acting, he did really well in the Highschool play. I'm going to go to the thursday showing of his play, so it should be awesome.

so yeah, that's about it for last week. I had planned on making it longer, but I don't have the energy tonight. I've been working hard at all the school assignments and now that they're done I'm like dead tired.

Oh, this is hilarious:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9u0aDF2tsc4 Go to it and watch it. Mitch Hedberg is an awesome comedian, although a little strange. As such I'm too tired to actually write out a lengthy post. So I'm counting on everyone who read this to remind me tomorrow or in the near future to blog about today. Things I'll cover are the spring conference, my second chapel singing =P, and hearing from a Highschool friend. Well i'm off to bed. At the start of the month I did my second communion thought which went quite well, as well it saw me singing in Chapel at MCC one week. That was interesting and went fairly well I think. Down and MCC things are starting to pick up as we have two essays and 3 mid-terms coming due shortly, if anyone feels the sudden urge to write a 2000-2500 word essay on Roman's 12 for me, I'd be quite happy =P Also at MCC the playoffs for Foozeball have begun. I entered the playoffs ranked second, which is pretty good I'd say. I hope to look forward to playing (and possibly beating) Darrell in the playoffs, but right now I'm matched up with Samara. It's looking to be a good season. For more info visit www.foozeballwithmcc.blogspot.com.

Outside of MCC February included my working on the Spring Conference this year. It was supposed to be headed by Jeff Combs this year, but we got word this month that a family crisis arose and he can't lead it. I'm not sure what the crisis was, but remember to keep him and his in your prayers, as well as the conference itself. Also we've been working on the MCC Spring Tour (also known as the Choir Tour) this month. Jonathan MacInnis has been chosen as our fearless leader, and he's bringing a few interesting ideas to the table, so it should be a good tour. Plus we learned that Robbie and I can rob a bank, so that's always a plus. lol =P

This year I hope to work out something with Canoe Cove (yes, as far as I know Camp will be up and running this year! YAY!!!) to let me counsel there as a paid counselor. Unfortunately I'd be about 2-3 months too young to be a full-time counselor, but I'm going to try and work something out either with the camp or possibly with Cornwall Church of Christ and a government grant to counsel there as much as possible while being paid for it. It'll take some working, but hopefully I can get something together so that I can stay in dorms at MCC next year.

Also I hope to get a prayer meeting going at Sherwood, much like the prayer meeting held at Cornwall bi-weekly. It's something that's been on my mind ever since Alan mentioned it in Romans class a few weeks ago, but I haven't been able to get much ground on it so far. Whenever I can get a hold of Mike (the minister of Cornwall) I should be able to get some advice from him. I've really got to get a hold of Mike sometime... I've got to contact him for the Government grant for Canoe Cove, for the Spring conference, and for the prayer meetings... Mike, were are you?

Also February saw the starting of a few new games. I'm taking a break from playing Runescape and have started playing KalOnline again, along with two text-based games called Legends RPG and Travian. They're interesting games I find, and they keep me from getting bored and provide a good method of proctrastination of course :D. Lotsa fun.

Wow, this provided for some awesome procrastinating. This blog and talking to Jim about the conference killed about an hour of time. She was having her new bf Joey over for a movie and wanted me to chaperone. Luckily it wasn't too bad as last time in terms of "third wheel" problems =P. But I'll not get into that, because the title of this post is not "krystle's new boyfriend Joey".

So on the drive home I was cycling through a few burnt cd's I had and an older song that I don't listen to much anymore came on. The song's lyrics really impacted me.

When everything is wrong
The day has passed and nothing's done
And the whole world seems against me
When I'm rolling in my bed, there's a storm in my head
I'm afraid of sinking in despair.

CHORUS:

Teach me, Lord to have faith
In what you're bringing me will
Change my life and bring you glory &

There on the storm I am learning to let go
Of the will that I so long to control
There may I be in your arms eternally
I thank you, Lord, you are the calmer of the storm.

You rebuke the wind and the waves
Once again I find I'm amazed & the power of your will
Cuz I'm a child of little faith
I feel the wind and forget your grace
And you say, "Peace, be still."

There on the storm I am learning to let go
The white wave's high, it's crashing o'er the deck
And I don't know where I go
Where are you Lord, is my ship going down?
The mast is gone so throw the anchor
Should I jump and try to swim to land?

There on the storm, teach me God to understand
Of the Will that I just cannot control
There may I see all you love protecting me
I thank you Lord, you are the calmer of the storm.

-Calmer of the Storm, Downhere

The past two or three months for me have pretty much been full of more low-points than high ones. I don't quite know what it is, but it's been difficult to actually get back into the swing of things this year, i've just felt really down I guess. Little things have a habbit of getting to me, and it's not good. Stuff that goes on at school, stuff with friends, family, stuff that happens at home, things people say out loud or whisper under their breath, I dunno, it all just piles up and weighs me down. It gets hard a lot and sometimes, foolish it is, I feel like I'm alone through it all. I tell myself lies which I know not to be true, and yet end up convincing myself that they are true.

I don't even know where i'm going with this, nor why i'm doing it, and it's getting late so I'll stop. It's been a while since i've posted I guess, and I'm not exactly in the best mood to blog but that's another story, so I'll post my communion thought which I had to do yesterday at church. From what I've heard it was a pretty good one too, and Matt's daughter even read it aloud to her family which is pretty cute. I dunno, I thought it could've gone better but I got a lot of good feedback, which is good. Alrighty, without further delay, here's the communion thought for all your reading pleasures.

About three weeks ago I was talking to a friend of mine who graduated with me out of high school last year. This friend is a Christian and even came out to youth group at this church last year. We were talking about this and that, and the subject of coming to church came up in the conversation. I asked him why he hadn’t come to church lately, and his answer shocked me a bit. He said “I don’t feel like I belong”.

I don’t belong, this struck me as a very strange idea. Then a question came to me on the drive home that night, “Who belongs?” Who did Jesus come to save? Did he come only for the perfect? For the rich? For men? For women? In the book of Luke Jesus answers that question when the Pharisees accused him of eating with tax collectors and sinners.

Luke 5:31-32 reads “Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” So who did he come to save? He came to save sinners, he came to save you and you and you, he came to save me. Not only that, but he came to save that cashier at McDonald’s. He came to save the slow driver in front of you. He came to save that man sleeping in the alleyway, and that stranger you walk past on the street. He came to save everyone.

So here we are once again at the Lord’s Table remembering this fact, that Jesus came to call us, the sinners we are, to repentance. This meal is one in which we as Christians reflect on his sacrifice, the sacrifice given for you and I. I’d like to close by sharing with you the lyrics of a song called “A better way” written by the band Downhere.

“It's everything You've promised
There's no greater love than this
From prophets until today
A man laying down His life for His friends
Your sacrifice has spoken, You gave everything
And “I love you” could not be said
A better way”

L8rs all

I'm a Pagan!

Who knew that I, Vincent Arsenault, am a genuine pagan? And have been so for nearly my entire life spent residing on PEI?

Ok, so you may be a little confused. Today I discovered that the literal meaning of Pagan is a "country dweller" by doing a google definition on the word. I live in the country, so I am a country dweller, and thus I must be a Pagan. Ok, so now that that's out of the way, I'll tell you about my day.

Reminder, the Canoe Cove meeting is on January 25th at Central Church at 6pm (i think). This meeting is VERY!!! important, as it will decide wether or not the camp will be able to open this summer. The camp is in dire need of funding and support. So all three or four of you who actually read this blog occasionally had better go.

Today marks the first night that I have ever slept over at MCC! yay team! I'm staying over for the three nights of the Lectureships. Pretty sweet, I know. So far, after day one of the lectures the speaker is quite good, despite his semi-evil looking picture on the MCC paper The Messenger. Although I would say that we're moving at about the speed of Romans class does, since after about 2 hours of lectures we have finished the first 5 verses of 1Peter. but he is quite entertaining, so that's certainly a plus.

Also, today I became a member of the group which is putting on the May conference. Somehow I was volunteered for being part of the committee setting up the workshops AND being the PEI Contact Representative who contacts all the churches around here with the info. Yay!.... ah well, it'll be fun, and the Conferences are awesome, everyone come, NOW!

wow, I don't think I have anything else to write about. I'm like, super-boring. so, to make it appear like the post is longer than it really is, I'll put some song lyrics which were played tonight. It's been so long since we've actually done this song, or at least it seems that way.

As sure as gold is precious and the honey sweet,
So you love this city and you love these streets.
Every child out playing by their own front door
Every baby laying on the bedroom floor.

Every dreamer dreaming in her dead-end job
Every driver driving through the rush hour mob
I feel it in my spirit, feel it in my bones
You're going to send revival, bring them all back home

I can hear that thunder in the distance
Like a train on the edge of town
I can feel the brooding of Your Spirit
"Lay your burdens down, Lay your burdens down".

From the Preacher preaching when the well is dry
To the lost soul reaching for a higher high
From the young man working through his hopes and fears
To the widow walking through the veil of tears

Every man and woman, every old and young
Every fathers daughter, every mothers son.
I feel it in my spirit, feel it in my bones
You're going to send revival, bring them all back home

I can hear that thunder in the distance
Like a train on the edge of town
I can feel the brooding of Your Spirit
"Lay your burdens down, Lay your burdens down".

Revive us, Revive us,
Revive us with your fire!

G'night all!

blah

you know, I'd write a big long blog about how i've been doing the past week, but I really don't know. It's weird, i've just been very blah the past week. Like there have been several highs and lows within such a short period of time. I dunno, I guess the reason if I could define it would be uncertainty, it has a tendancy of getting to me more than it should, and then after that I come to the realization that the uncertainty is mainly from a lack of faith. I dunno, I just have a tendency of getting myself down over things...

Anyways, on a lighter note, Ma is starting up an aquarium. She's been buying tropical fish everywhere, and the Pets Unlimited over here has a sale on for tropical fish, a dollar per fish. I think we've got nearly 30 fish so far consisting of two betas, 11 cloudtail, 2 of the fish at Walmart that Krystle liked (a pink one and a blue one, whom I named Pinky and the Brain.), 10 smaller fish much like the cloudtails, five orange/black fish with big stomachs, and a lone orange/white fish that we bought at walmart tonight. It's looking to be quite the collection of fish, hopefully our 3 cats won't get too hungry..... lol.

yeah, so it's now tomorrow, that is tuesday, although this post was started tuesday, so it's really today, even though yesterday was an hour ago. so... yay tuesday. I've got NT survey tomorrow, then Intro to Interpretation, and Methods of Teaching. Should be a fun-filled day. whoop whoop.

L8rs all

Hmm

So how's it going everyone? I know, i haven't been keeping up with the blogging a whole lot lately, I dunno, I just haven't wanted to blog much. I even started a post last night but didn't continue on with it. I guess I've been relatively quiet lately. But it happens...

Anyways, so the first YG of the year was last night. It was quite a bit of fun and included the bible scene movie game, A few rounds of the "who am I" game, and Mitch eating dog treats (or trying to) So it was quite a blast. The drive home was rather sucky though. I was dead tired. I stopped in at the Esso outside of C'town to get gas and some McDonalds. I got $10 in gas to replace what I had used, and went to McD's to find one lady working there, the manager I think. She was completely alone, and as such, took a while to get around to taking my order. I'd say I was waiting a good 10 mins to get my heart-attack in a bun. Not only that, but I'm pretty sure that she didn't put any salt on the fries, so they were not only semi cold but not at all salty. Yuck... So I got my food eventually and drove home. Long drive, but I put on some POD good and loud to keep me awake.

On the drive home I was thinking a bit about the day. At YG I found out that I had been put on the communion serving for the month of January and a communion thought for Febuary 4th. That's all fine with be, but they could've at least told me that I was serving, since I did not know and missed last week. Luckily this time I've already got an idea for a thought, and hopefully I should be more prepared for it this time. The first thought I did a few months ago didn't turn out too well because I was a little unprepared, and it was my first time too.

Plus last night the sky was really clear, so I got to see a whole lot of stars. I love it when that happens, it happens so rarely these days it seems.

So I Believe that I've decided to continue on with MCC and become a Minister. I've been thinking about it for a while now, and Ben gave me some really good advice on the matter. He said "If you can be happy doing anything else, then do it." Those words have been on my mind quite a bit lately, and I've decided that I can't be happy with anything else. It's what I want to do, and from what I've heard, I'm not to bad at it either. Ma was saying how some of her friends thought that I'd be a minister, which was interesting because these friends never actually met me. But hey, maybe it's a sign.

Well, I guess that's about it for today, except for one request, that anyone that reads this could pray for Canoe Cove Christian Camp. The camp is going through some difficult times financially, and if they can't get the money to do the required upgrades, the camp will likely not open this summer.

Well i'm out, l8rs

WEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FIRST SNOW-STORM OF THE YEAR!!! PLUS! THE FIRST POWER OUTAGE OF THE YEAR!!!

Could it get any better? I think not! Phew, i'm excited. I love winter and all the snow that comes with it. So far we've had an absolutely poopy winter and it's been green up till today, but lo and behold, snow! wind! ice pellets! hail! I'm so giddy *bounce bounce*. I know, some people don't like winter, but you get non-winter for 3/4's of the year, sometimes more, so let my winter go! =P

Although I find it quite ironic that we've had an absolutely warm winter while the MCC students are away at home, but the day before everyone is back we get a decently sized storm. I was thinking that they'd all get off easy and not have a good old PEI winter, but it looks like God has quite the sense of humour =P.

So i've determined that this break has probably killed my teeth. I've been so lazy with brushing my teeth twice a day. I dunno what's happened, I was always good at it and have good teeth because of it, but now I've kept forgetting. I'm too lazy I think. Plus i've been eating like a bunch of chocolate and drinking pop, it's not good. why am I telling everyone about my teeth? I dunno, i'm bored. Enjoy! I think maybe I'll describe the office for you all now, since there's a half hour left b4 ma pics me up and I'm done of working for today. So looking from the right to the left, the door to the bathroom is slightly ajar. there's two cupboards with office supplies, on top of those are at least 15 empty aluminum cans, mostly beans and chef boyardee's. Next is the Microwave with two KD Easy-Mac boxes (one half-full and one used for garbage) and a premium plus soda cracker box. The Microwave is on a very undsturdy table, and right beside two recycle bins being used as trash. behind a half-wall right behind the microwave is Miles' desk. He's leaning close to his larger monitor to read. His feet are propped up on a white, but durty stool under his desk. He's got two monitors, an Acer flatscreen, much like our new one, and an old bulky screen with a milk label stuck to the side, and several papers and what looks like a phone book on the corner of his desk. beside him is another cupboard with office supplies and a Timeless homepage design mug on top. The coat rack is beside that, with my coat and Jim's coat on it. outside the door is a water cooler which no one ever uses, and Mike's office by the door, but that's not visible. On the left wall by the door is a whiteboard with Jim's stock prices marked. Five stocks are rising, and are marked in green with a green smiley-face on it. One is falling, and is marked in red with a red frowning face. There is a blue curtain over the window looking out to the front, and an old black couch which Jim occasionally takes naps on, with one red pillow. Continuing along the left side of the office is Jim's desk. On it is a newspaper, many notes, a container of salt with the french side facing me. He has one Dell flatscreen monitor hooked up to his laptop, and a calendar on the wall. moving closer to me, I am sitting at a meeting desk which can sit 6 people. there are two unused samsung monitors with the bulky backs, an old tower pc to the right of the monitors with two stickers on the side facing me. One says "zoom" and anther has a red button saying "eject". on the top of the PC there are two menus and a booklet for virgin mobile. To the left of the two monitors are two "bankers box"s, probably with files and records. In front of the monitors are an open bag of PC brand nacho chips and an open 750ml bottle of coca-cola, about 1/4 coke left. behind me to the left is a small freezer, about 3 feet high and 1.5 feet wide, a table with a coffee machine, old fax machine, and two kleenex boxes on top, as well as a cardboard box and several empty bags. Behind me are a dull red meeting chair, exactly the same as the one i'm sitting in, and a dull blue chair of lesser quality. There is an Air Conditioner in the wall behind me turned on, and a desk with the back-up PC and monitor on it where we back-up all our files. also on the desk is a keyboard and a stack of books and papers.

Phew, long post. If you manage to read through it all, give yourself a pat on the back. Yuck. Ma's getting her nails done right behind me, and she needed me to come along to get dog and cat food because she can't carry the bags. It's certainly not an exciting place to be, although my readers may not share the same view of them as I do, since you're Sandy and Elise and both women. I'm pretty sure I'm the only guy in the whole place, which really sucks. But I am listening to Numa Numa, so it should entertain me at least a bit.

I got back the remainder of my marks today, and they were quite good. I already knew my overalls, but I got back my LOC exam, which was an 88%, my Christian Ed Exam which was 93%, and my Chris Ed Lesson Plan which was 96%. So all in all It was good, although I'm going to talk to Eileen about the Chris Ed Exam, I think she marked one wrong that I can argue was right, which means that I'll ace the exam :D

So i'm eagerly awaiting the return of all the students and the start of school. I've been so bored lately, and going to a beauty parlor doesn't help relieve the boredom. =P I think i'm running out of games to play at home too. Over Christmas, my pool table was overtaken by hostile junk again, and I've got to start a rescue mission to uncover it sometime. I'm looking forward to the start-up of the semester again. The first semester went along quite well for the marks at least, and hopefully I'll be able to do better this time as for getting the work done on time, although I still do some very good last minute projects, lol.

So today I finished up Albany NY. It doesn't seem like a very nice place to stay in a hotel really, I think I found maybe two decently nice places there. But it's done, so that means I get more money. I like money, it's a good thing to have. Hopefully I'll get lots of work done tomorrow and Friday though, cause I'll need money for the next school year.

hmm, I can't think of anything else to post. I did some changes to the template, and I added a neat little random quote generator to the top, so it changes whenever you refresh the screen. There's currently 11 of them, but I'll probably add more when I come across them.

Ok, that's it. It's nearly time to go neways. L8rs all

Boredom

I hate mondays, especially when they happen on tuesdays, ugh... This has got to be one of the slowest tuesdays ever. Here I am, sitting in the office with no will to do work at all. It's hot, it's quiet, and it sucks. I've been doing Detroit today, and I'd say Detroit has the most surrounding communities ever. I've found at least 10 places that are not Detroit in the Detroit area, including Romulus. Who knew there was a Romulus? Surprisingly the resident star trek geek Matt didn't.

So it is officially post-new years day day. How was everyone's New Years Festivities? I know you're all absolutely dying to hear about mine, even though Sandy has already heard about it, so that leaves... Elise, so happy reading Elise! =P But before I start, I'd like to say that the Embassy Suites in Southfield (another place in Detroit which is not Detroit) is stupid and I want to break it. Ok, done.

So on the Friday before New Years Eve I visited Krystle at the wal-mart change rooms for about an hour and helped (ok, hindered) her work there. Krystle asked if I would come over to her place to chaperone while she had this new guy over. I guess they hadn't really met much, but they both knew someone and met through them. She wasn't quite sure what he was like though, so she wanted me to come along just incase. So the night opened with this guy named caille (i think that's how it's spelt. it's pronounced kyle) also known as Cripple for some reason, arriving shortly after I had gotten to Krystle's place. We played some Dance Dance Revolution, which I would have so beaten everyone if it were a full contact game, and then went downstairs at about 9 to watch movies. We ordered some Pizza and started watching the first movie at about 10:15 or so. In total we watched some of Boogeyman (what a lame excuse for a horror), The Notebook (sappy chick-flick), 50-first dates (I had already seen it, but still funny) and Cars (yes, it was animated, but actually not bad at all). The night wrapped up around 5:10 when Mr. Cripple went home. After he had gone, Krystle and I stayed up about an hour talking, and she went off to bed at about 6:15 or so. I got around 4 hours of sleep on the couch when Krystle's mother came downstairs. Between her mother and her very vocal cat, I was woken up and couldn't get back to sleep. I got home around 4:45, went upstairs for a bit on the laptop, talked with Sandy over the phone for a bit and went to sleep around 8. Was woken up around 11pm by my Mother hammering a shelf onto the wall, and I couldn't get to sleep after that till about 2:30. I went online for a bit, but not for too long, I guess I had too much on my mind to sleep. Anyways, that was my New Years Eve/Day festivities. All-in-all it was pretty good actually.

And here I am, bored out of my mind at work. I need another two hotels done and I'll be finished with Detroit. YAY!!! I really can't wait to get back to school, I actually am doing school work on my break instead of procrastinating. It's so weird, but it's happening. Yes, I realize that by blogging I'm procrastinating about work, but.... Shut Up! =P. I'd do work if someone (Elise) would hurry up and build me two really nice 4-5 star hotels in Detroit with really nice websites right now, lol. Ok, fine, I'll do some work, but someone should come online so that I have someone to chat with while I do it =P. L8rs all

sorry for the long post, but I do that when I get bored, and besides, reading is fun! =P

Happy New Years

So It's a new year today. Welcome in 2007 (not 2008). What will the new year bring? Only one knows that, but let's hope it'll be a good one! I'm sure it'll be great. 2006 brought quite a number of changes for me I'd say. It's all happened so fast it's like a crazy whirlwind, but that's the way it goes sometimes. Life can be quite a crazy roller coaster full of plenty of gradual climbs, crazy drops, and full speed twists and turns, but for now this roller coaster is done, time for the next one. So let's all get strapped in, buckle up, throw your hands in the air let go of it all, and have a great time! I have to say, of all the people who have two or more posts on my blog, sandy and elise are my favorites. =P Keep up the blogging you two.

Don't you hate not knowing? I dunno, it's just that sometimes uncertainty gets to me. The new year comes very soon, and it'll be 2008 (one of Sandy's pretty numbers I believe) actually in another year, because it's now 2006 and next year will be 2007. Thanks for the correction Elise. Who's to say what the new year will bring. Personally, I have no clue. Every so often I'll let my mind wander and it just goes crazy, and eventually I don't know what's what anymore. It's just weird because it's so unpredictable. This new semester will probably bring about change, that's certainly predictable anyways, it's what change it will bring that's the unpredictable part. What might happen, what might not happen, I dunno. I keep trying to just trust that it's all worked out already for me, but sometimes unforseen circumstances can shake that trust. But maybe that's just me being me again, I seem to do that a lot, or maybe it's this Christmas slump that I seem to be in. I dunno, just that the break hasn't really been as good as I had hoped for, it's been rather slow and lonely I guess. *sigh*

There's no stars visible tonight.....

Christmas Eve

So here we are, Christmas Eve already. Wow, this Christmas sure did come fast. I think it's because there's no snow. It doesn't feel like Christmas without the snow. Too bad Katie, if you're reading this. There will be snow eventually, lol. So in 54 minutes it'll be Christmas, sure doesn't seem like it. Over here we really haven't gotten into much of a Christmas spirit this week. I dunno what it is, we just hadn't had the time for it. I've been busy with College and Work, Ma's been working and not feeling too well, and the month of December has had several low points for us, but that happens sometimes. People get busy and then tired from working and don't necessarily get the tree and the lights up each year. Luckily, we've still got our old tree from last year in the back yard. Sure it's quite dead and dry, but it's there... =P

So tomorrow brings Christmas. I think this year is the least amount of gifts that I've recieved ever (so far a total of 2), but that's quite alright for me. I told most people that instead of getting me a gift, I wanted them to donate money to Canoe Cove. It's a Great camp, but coming up on some financial problems, so i've been recieving money instead for the camp. Sure, it would be nice to spend and hour tearing into wrapping and getting all sorts of wicked-cool stuff, but I love the camp and would hate to see it not open next summer, and if I can do anything to help keep it open, that's certainly worth not opening as many presents this year. The camp has done so much for me, if you're at MCC you probably have a glimpse of that from my Oral comm speeches, I figure it's about time for me to start giving back to it. Hopefully I'll get to counsel full time this year too. I can't wait! So Go Canoe Cove Go!

Well, I guess that's about it for this post. Not a whole lot more to write about... hmm, I forgot to take a game back today and will be getting some late fees on tuesday, uh, I worked at Timeless all last week, so should get a nice pay-check, although I owe ma over $180, so that'll chew up most of it. um..... Oh, I watched the youtube video for Leroy Jenkins. It's a video from WoW. quite interesting... And I watched the Numa Numa guy and Chad Vader on youtube. Quite funny, give them a watch sometime.

I can't believe I'm actually looking forward to the return of school. Ugg, someone shoot me. I never thought I'd look forward to returning from a break, but I'm like super bored out of my mind, and I actually have quite a bit of fun at MCC. Sure the work is not easy, but it's worth it. And we are getting a new student too. Elise is coming for the second semester from Hamilton Ontario. Oh, this has nothing to do with Elise coming, but did you know that there are 43 Hamiltons in the USA? Crazy stuff. But yes, Elise is coming over, so I look forward to many games of foozeball, eh Elise? =P

I think I'll do some more additions to my template tonight, maybe add some more hotels and I'm thinking of doing a part for quotes. I like memorable quotes, I've got a few on my msn space that I'll put. If you have some interesting quotes, why not comment them in this post and I might add them. I'm always looking for good ones.

Ok, well Time to finish this one off. Who will get first comment this time? Will it be tiny asian Sandy or clicky-boots Elise? Or perhapse a new challenger will arise to take on these titans of the First Comment battles (most likely not) Ha Ha, I'm just kidding. He's been blogging since november, and he's been doing it every day, so sandy and jill (whoever jill is) you're not alone. Everyone should go take a look, i'll put a link to it on my sidebar.

Anyways, so today I went around dropping off christmas presents. Ben and Matt weren't even in the office though, so I left theirs in the main office. And someone tell Friend to get some salt for that front step, it's a little icy. Tonight I'm going over to krystle's place, and with her present dropped off that'll finish up all my shopping! Go team!

Today I was hunting down pictures for hotels in Seattle, Atlanta and Chicago. I had to find 3 from each hotel because Jim changed the template from what we were using during these three, and I needed more pictures for each. Oh, who knew there was a place called Romulus? It's in Michigan, I bet Matt will find that quite interesting. And here's a tip for you all, if you're ever in a big city and want a nice place to stay, stay in any W hotel. They're beautiful, and have awesome room names. Who wouldn't want to stay in an "Extreme Wow" or "Marvelous" suite? I'm gonna start putting links to really nice hotels on the sidebar as well. I've found some really awesome ones all over Canada and the USA.

Speaking of Work, i'd best be getting back to work. Do you know that all day I've been listening to a strange song called "numa numa". there's a really interesting video done by some players of WoW on YouTube done to this song, and I think it's even got a Veggie Tales song running through the credits. How can you top that? Search it sometime. Type in "numa numa" in YouTube and it should be near the middle/lower results.

Well Sandy, there ya go. I updated, lol. DIE!!!!!

So it's starting to look a bit more like winter today. We FINALLY got some snow, although it was under 5 cm's, at least it's better than the green christmas we've been having so far. I'm sorry, but having green grass growing a week before christmas just disgusts me. What is the world coming to? Although I feel bad for all those students coming back in January. When they left, it was quite green, and when they return they will probably freeze. Poor you guys. (ok, i don't have much sympathy, but still).

Anyways... so it would seem there's a bit of competition for first comments, eh? who knew I was so popular... lol. ah well, no one can resist me. it's the hair, it's mesmerizing. Just kidding =) So it's looking like a slow day at work today, Jim (my boss) is not coming in today, he's working at home, so I'm stuck with doing more hotel sites. If you'd like to see my work, go to http://www.findahotelin.com . It's oh so entertaining, but there are some nice hotels there. Oh, the one i'm looking at now is really nice. Go to http://www.fairmont.com/santamonica/ and click the "slideshow" button on the right. You won't be disappointed (Elise). Also, I need some entertaining music, if anyone knows of something to listen to, post them and I'll have a listen.

So today I go Christmas shopping. Oh so much fun. If anyone would like to donate some money to my shopping, I won't deny it. lol. But I'd best be getting back to work. I'm not being paid to blog here. lol. If anyone wishes to get a hold of me, I'll be on skype. I feel like a pile of poop.

The English Exam is in about 9 hours, and I'm not at all ready for it. I think i'm getting sick as well, it's probably because i've been so stressed out lately. Talk about your "when it rains, it pours" syndrome. But on a better note, I got a bunch of marks back today, and none of them were below 88%, which is always great. My OT survey mark was 94% for the final mark too, which is awesome. I've gotta keep these marks high, because I have a feeling that English will need to be raised up quite a bit after this exam. Hopefully the research paper will be good enough to balance out this exam, because I'm having concerns about wether or not i'll pass it... I dunno, it's questionable. It is the last exam though, so it'll be quite nice to get it over with.

So Christmas is coming around the corner I guess. I'm not really too excited about it, but that's the way it goes sometimes, right? hmm... there was a tiny bug on my laptop screen, how unfortunate.

I dunno what else to write about. I guess I should get back to studying.... how I Loath English. Could someone shoot me please? What else.... well, i'm eating some hershey kisses and drinking a 750ml coke tonight to keep me up for studying, and I'll most likely be sleeping a lot tomorrow, so if anyone needs me, i'll be unconcious on the couch in the guy's lounge.

Well, I guess that's it for now. I know, not a very entertaining post. If you want entertaining, look at sandy's post on her blog on tuesday. He He. It entertains me. Time for more studying, l8rs all!

Exams!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I guess it's time for a second post, so here goes.

Today I slept till 1:30pm, it was awesome! Don't you just love sleeping in? I woke up, played some games here and there, and now it's almost 6, so I'll start studying for my exam tomorrow I think. It's the Christian Ed exam, so I'm not really sure what to expect... The last one was wicked-hard, everyone hated it. The whole thing was mostly statistics and historical questions, like who started sunday school (it was the guy with the beard btw). I think 4 people passed that mid-term. I did have a 62%, but one of the questions I had nearly right and she marked it wrong, so I got her to check it over again and she gave me another 9%, which I won't complain about, and bumped my mark up to a 71%. Still not great, but at least it's a pass. She said that this Final Exam would be more conceptual and less factual than the first, so hopefully it'll be easier, but i'm really not sure what it is I should study... ah well, it'll go fine. My Christian Ed mark is like 95 anyways, and the Exam is only worth 15%, so i'm not too worried.

After that exam, i've got the Life of Christ exam on wednesday, which I don't think will be fun at all. It's going to be a lot of fact and event questions, which means that it's going to suck supremely. Knowing me, I probably won't start studying for that one till wednesday, spend all day at school cramming for it till the Exam at 1, and then sleep the rest of the day. Oh well, we'll see how it goes anyways. Hopefully the memorizations of Matthew 5,6,7 boosted my mark up nicely, 5 was 93%, 6 was 97%, and I have yet to find out what 7 was.

So after that Exam comes the end of all life as we know it, also known as the English Exam. This will most likely be the worst Exam I have ever had. The study sheet is like 18 typed pages long, and is entirely made up of Essay writing and Grammar... Now on the English Mid-Term I did really well, got 90% on it, which I'm quite happy about. Unfortunately, the Final will involve mostly Grammar, and will have about 50 billion rules to follow about every little aspect of the english language imaginable. Fun Times! And not only that, but the English Exam just so happens to be at 9am... what a horrible time for an English Exam, but it's got to be done.

So now that that little rant of Exams is over I'll get to the rest of my life. Last week was really a sucky week. Pretty much everything was due last week, all the big assignments and such. On Tuesday, I was busy writing up my Christian Ed lesson for the class that evening, and I barely got it finished. I think it went surprisingly well for being prepared an hour before class. Wednesday was the Christmas Chapel, which went along quite well. I spent over an hour washing dishes, and my fingers were prunes after it was done. After the clean-up was done, around 3pm, Amanda came over to the college to tell me that she didn't think that our relationship would work out and she decided that we should break-up. I would have to say that was not pleasant, and it put me in a really down mood for the rest of the week. I'm still feeling a little down about it now, but I guess i'm slowly getting over it. She had said that she still wanted to be friends, but I'm not really sure about it. It's one of the things I have to still work out. As if that weren't enough, on Thursday my mother recieved a letter informing us that we would be paying for repairs to the car that killed my dog 3 weeks ago. On Friday, we found out that it was not the car owner that was doing this, it was the insurance company, and the guy had no choice in the matter. As well, shortly before the MCC christmas party, I found out that the bill for that car would be around $5,000. That seemed to bring me down yet again, and I don't think that the Christmas Party was as good as it could've been for me because of that. I think that sums up my week. Overall, it was a pretty crappy week, but it's slowly looking up.

Congrats to Sandy for the first comment on my blog. I know, I finally made one, and now the world's going to end. We had determined that If I were to ever create a blog, it would cause world-wide boredom, resulting in world-wide depression, which led to World War 3, Nuclear war, Nuclear winter, and the end of all life as we know it (much like the english exam), but Sandy told me to do it, so it's her fault when we all die. Also, I won't be telling anyone about this blog, I made one comment using this account on Sandy's blog, and I'm interested in seeing how long it takes people to find out about it.

Anyways... That was a good half-hour of procrastination. Back to studying for Christan Ed Exam... yeah, that won't last long. I'll probably end up playing around with the HTML code on my template. Honestly, I had a lot of fun for about a half-hour messing around with it yesterday, this time I'll probably save the changes too. It'll be quite a lot of fun. See if you can spot all the little changes I'll make. anyways, that's it for me.
